The problem
Tabs accumulate. Chrome gives you no tools to manage them — no sorting, no grouping by site, no bulk operations. The only option is closing them one by one or giving up and starting fresh.
What it does
Tab Tamer is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3, no build step, no dependencies) that gives you actual control:
- Sort by title or last visited — physically reorders tabs in Chrome’s tab bar
- Group by site — uses Chrome’s native tab groups; one click to collapse or expand a domain
- Search — real-time filter across all open tabs
- Bulk close — checkbox multi-select, close N tabs at once
Clicking a tab in the panel switches to it and closes the popup. No friction.
Install
